I didn’t set out to become a publishing strategist or build systems to help authors grow.
I just wanted to tell stories.
I grew up on Long Island, New York.
When I was seven, my parents divorced. My dad's gambling addiction drove my family into bankruptcy. My mom worked tirelessly to support me and my brother, and in the quiet spaces between chaos, I found stories.
Hundreds of books.
Hundreds of hours of science videos on YouTube.
Somewhere between the stories and the science, I discovered a fascination with the future and a burning desire to create it.
At 13, I wrote my first novel, a dystopian young adult book called Control Freakz.
I worked a job at a resort in high school, saved every penny, and used it to publish the book myself.
By the time I graduated a year early, I was all in.
One year. Nine books. Over a million words. I was going to make it as an author.
I tried everything the experts said:
- Rapid release.
- Thousands in ads.
- Launching on every platform.
But none of it worked the way I hoped.
I spent over $10,000 and months of my life chasing strategies I didn’t fully understand.
And I watched my passion start to slip away.
It felt like no matter what I did, I was still guessing.
Guessing who my readers were.
Guessing what was working.
Guessing why nothing felt sustainable.
I nearly walked away from writing entirely.
But I couldn’t shake the question:
What if book marketing didn’t have to feel this overwhelming?
That question led to years of learning, testing, and building.
I worked with founders, built a membership platform that helps authors make over $1 million annually, and eventually joined the strategy team at MrBeast, the most-watched creator in the world, helping scale global content experiments seen by hundreds of millions of people.
And yet, even in the middle of that wild ride, I couldn’t forget what almost broke me.
